Not too long ago I received a newsletter in my inbox from a Substack page called Oldster. I opened it and read a cartoonist’s responses to a questionnaire about aging. I was intrigued. I emailed the Sari Botton, the person behind Oldster to see if she’d be interested in reading my response to her questions.
She sent me the questionnaire and it took me longer than I care to admit to write my responses. But I could only procrastinate so long. Here are my answers to questions such as:
Is there another age you associate with yourself in your mind? If so, what is it? And why, do you think?
What has aging given you? Taken away from you?
How has getting older affected your sense of yourself, or your identity?
What has been your favorite age so far, and why? Would you go back to this age if you could?
Take a look and consider how you’d answers the questions. It’s an interesting exercise.
