Inspired by the last Ask the Filmmaker post, I started thinking about the things I do at residencies that I don’t do in my real life, and vice-a-versa. Here are some lists for your perusal, because who doesn’t like lists?
Things I do at residencies that I don’t do at home:
- Wake up at dawn.
- Go to sleep before midnight.
- Drink four cups of coffee.
- Watch DVDs projected on a screen along with poets and visual artists.
- Take a lot of photographs.
- See a million stars.
- Play ping-pong.
- Hike.
Things I do at home that I don’t do at residencies:
- Sleep until 10am.
- Go to sleep at 2am.
- Spend HOURS on the internet daily.
- Food shop.
- Carry my wallet and keys with me every time I step outside.
- Lock my door.
- Shower daily.
- Ride my bike.
Things I do at residencies and at home:
- Floss.
Things I don’t do at residencies or at home:
- Fly a jetpack.

Despite the geeky outfit, I bet you wish that you did do the last thing on your list.

Dude, what are you talking about “geeky outfit”?
I so want to fly a jetpack!
Christine
That would be waaaay toooo coooool to fly a jetpack!!
I have “paragliding lessons” on my to-do list; have you ever given that any thought? The flight would last a lot longer anyway.
🙂
David Licata
Never. Not sure I have guts to do paragliding. Or jetpacking, for that matter.
Christine
p.s. Four out of five jetpack pilots recommend flossing everyday, so you are on the right path…
😉
Christine
Huh? No comprendo, amigo… what happened to, “I so want to fly a jetpack!” ???
David Licata
Sometimes I’m braver on the blog than in real life.
