An Orson Welles Quote

Is it possible that I have not quoted Orson Welles here? Or referred to him, even? It would seem so. What kind of film blog is this?

To rectify that, here is a quote that does not involve cheap wine or frozen peas. I was reminded of it by the film nerd who introduced Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead at a recent midnight screening.

The enemy of art is the absence of limitations.

When you’re making a film, there are many limitations. When you’re making an independent film, multiply that number by ten. And when you’re making an independent documentary, multiply that number by ten.
