There’s a tool editors use called ripple.
What it does doesn’t concern this post. What you need to know is I’ve been using this tool frequently, and every time I do the Grateful Dead song “Ripple” lodges itself in my brain.
This does not please me one bit.
Does anyone know how I can avoid this and therefore keep my sanity!

Think of tipple instead of ripple and then think of the movie, Harvey, with Jimmy Stewart. Unless you hate that movie.

That’s a good suggestion. I don’t know if it’ll work though. These earworms usually need to be replaced by other earworms. Which brings me to the next comment!

Play a counter earworm. I suggest “Ripples” by Genesis (back when they had Peter Gabriel).

That’s the ticket! But I don’t know if Genesis is the answer, even Peter Gabriel era Genesis, because I’m afraid it will eventually lead me to Sussudio, and that might be worse than Ripple.
My list of musical intolerances is growing by the day: Bob Seger, ELO, Phil Collins, oh, I could go on.

Do a free association until you get it out of your mind. Ripple = cheap … Red, Red Wine. Then think of UB 40 and how they all live in some bizarre commune, and how much you really wouldn’t want to live on that commune with them. Voilà.

Really, they live (still live?) in a commune? I suddenly have more respect for them.

Well, I think back in the 80’s they did. Given that they are all going bankrupt, one from buying Jeff Lynne’s old house, that commune may reform.
