Not My Life’s Work

capybara-and-catThere haven’t been the usual two new and stellar posts a week on this humble blog the last few weeks; I’ve had to take on some freelance video work and it’s consuming all of my time. I haven’t watched a film in ages, I read a page of a book before passing out every night. My guitar playing has taken a serious hit. My fridge and cupboards are empty. The dust bunnies under my bed have transformed into dust capybaras. My sink is full of dirty dishes, my hamper full of dirty clothes, and I really need to clean my bathroom.

The work is interesting: I’m shooting interviews and doing some editing as well. It’s work I enjoy and it’s not breaking rocks in the hot sun.

But though I’m seriously missing the time I used to have to think about and do my work, A Life’s Work carries on. So though there may not be the usual two posts a week on the blog in the coming weeks, you can be sure the documentary is still front and center.

Even though I am as exhausted as when this clip was shot.
